WHEN CAN I ENROLL IN BENEFITS?

As an active full-time, benefits-eligible associate, you have 31 days from your full-time date of hire to enroll in benefits. Your benefits will be effective the first day of the month following your date of hire or change to active full-time status. Short-term disability coverage is effective 90 days after your date of hire or change to active full-time status.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T ENROLL IN BENEFITS AS A NEW HIRE OR NEWLY BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE ASSOCIATE?

You’ll receive some benefits automatically, while you’ll need to enroll in others. After your 31st day, you won’t be able to enroll in or make changes to your benefits until the next Open Enrollment, unless you have a Qualifying Life Event, like getting married or having a baby.

HOW DO I ENROLL IN BENEFITS AS A NEW HIRE OR NEWLY BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE ASSOCIATE?

Follow these easy steps when you’re ready to enroll.

CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY BENEFITS DURING THE YEAR?

No. Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to enroll in or change your benefits, unless you have a Qualifying Life Event. Benefits elected during Open Enrollment will be effective July 1 and continue through June 30 of the next year.

HOW CAN I SAVE ON HEALTH CARE EXPENSES?

Here are a few tips:

Don’t skip preventive care visits — they’re free and can help identify potential health risks. All WSI medical plans cover the full costs of in-network preventive care services, such as annual checkups, immunizations and age-appropriate screenings.

Use in-network doctors and facilities through your carrier or Kaiser. You’ll pay more if you see an out-of-network provider.

Save time and money with the convenience of mail order delivery for prescriptions. Switching your ongoing prescription medications to mail order means some of your prescriptions will cost less, and they’ll come directly to your home.
